Get Paid in Tokenized Gold: BlockBee Adds Support for Tether Gold (XAUt)

Get paid in tokenized gold, backed by the real thing. Tether Gold (XAUt) is now live on BlockBee. Accept the gold-backed token on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, and each on-chain payment goes to your own wallet once it confirms.

What's New?

BlockBee users can now accept Tether Gold on two networks:

Ethereum (ERC-20)

• XAUt, ticker erc20/xaut, minimum 0.0015 XAUt per transaction

BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20)

• XAUt, ticker bep20/xaut, minimum 0.00025 XAUt per transaction

At BlockBee's XAUt rate on 5 November 2026 (about USD 4,092 per XAUt), those minimums come to roughly USD 6.14 on Ethereum and USD 1.02 on BNB Smart Chain. Payments below the minimum are ignored and the funds are lost, so check the current values with the ticker info endpoint before you set small prices.

What Is Tether Gold?

Tether describes XAUt as a digital token backed by physical gold. Each token represents one fine troy ounce of gold, held in Swiss vaults as London Good Delivery bars. Holders can look up the gold allocated to their address on Tether's site, and the token divides into units as small as 0.000001 fine troy ounce.

A note for pricing and accounting: each XAUt stands for an ounce of gold, not a fixed dollar amount, so the US-dollar value of the XAUt you receive can rise or fall with the gold price.

Why Accept XAUt?

• Let XAUt holders pay directly: customers who hold Tether Gold can pay you in XAUt without swapping it first.
• Receive revenue in gold-backed tokens: customers' XAUt payments are forwarded to your own wallet.
• Choose the network: take payments on Ethereum, or on BNB Smart Chain, where the minimum is lower.
• Fees: start at 1%, with discounts down to 0.25% based on your volume over the previous 30 days and your industry risk tier, plus network fees. See the fees page.

How to Get Started

Turn on Tether Gold in the BlockBee Dashboard and set the wallet address where you want to receive it.

If you integrate through the API, call the Create endpoint with erc20/xaut or bep20/xaut. You'll find both tickers, with live minimums, on the BlockBee Cryptocurrencies page.
